Certificate of Analysis (COA)
A document, ideally from an independent laboratory, that reports analytical results for a specific batch of a material — typically including identity, purity, and the methods used.
Evidence Level
An editorial summary of how strong and mature the research literature is on a topic, ranging from Strong to Insufficient.
HPLC
High-Performance Liquid Chromatography, an analytical technique commonly used to assess the purity of a peptide preparation.
In Vitro
Latin for "in glass" — experiments performed outside a living organism, such as in cell or tissue cultures.
Mass Spectrometry
An analytical technique that measures mass-to-charge ratios, often used to confirm the identity and molecular weight of a peptide.
Peptide
A short chain of amino acids linked by peptide bonds; shorter than a full protein.
Preclinical Research
Research conducted before human studies, typically in cell cultures (in vitro) or animal models.
Purity
The proportion of a sample that is the intended compound, usually expressed as a percentage and measured by methods such as HPLC.
Research Use Only (RUO)
A designation indicating a material is intended for laboratory research, not for human or animal use, diagnosis, or treatment.
Testing Visibility
How openly and verifiably a vendor documents third-party testing, including batch coverage and laboratory independence.
