Draft template — to be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before reliance.

This page is a working draft prepared for internal review. It does not constitute legal advice, and it has not been reviewed or approved by an attorney. Specific terms, jurisdiction, and disclosure language must be validated by qualified counsel before publication or reliance.

Overview

RUO Report (operated by [Company Entity]) is an independent, research-use-only (RUO) publication that covers peptide research and related literature for an audience of researchers, scientists, and informed readers. We are a publisher and review outlet—not a seller of any product. We do not manufacture, distribute, or sell peptides or any other physical good, and nothing on this site is medical, clinical, dosing, or use guidance of any kind.

Like many independent publications, our work is partly supported by commercial relationships, including sponsorships and affiliate arrangements. This policy explains how we handle sponsored content, how we keep advertising separate from editorial work, and the limits we place on any sponsor’s influence over what we publish. It should be read together with our Affiliate Disclosure, Editorial Policy, and Terms of Use.

What We Mean by “Sponsored Content”

For the purposes of this policy, sponsored content means any article, section, listing, graphic, video, newsletter placement, or other material whose creation, placement, or prominence is funded or compensated by a third party. This includes, without limitation:

  • Articles or segments paid for by a sponsor (“sponsored posts” or “advertorials”);
  • Display advertising, banners, and promotional units served on the site;
  • Paid newsletter inserts or dedicated sponsor sends;
  • Content produced in collaboration with, or underwritten by, a commercial partner.

Affiliate links—where we may earn a commission if a reader follows a link—are addressed separately in our Affiliate Disclosure, but the same principles of transparency and editorial independence in this policy apply to them.

All Sponsored Content Is Clearly Labeled

We label sponsored material so a reasonable reader can immediately tell it apart from independent editorial work. Labeling practices include:

  • A clear, conspicuous label such as “Sponsored,” “Advertisement,” “Paid Partnership,” or “Sponsored by [Sponsor]” placed at or near the top of the content;
  • Visual treatment (such as shading, borders, or section framing) that distinguishes sponsored units from editorial articles;
  • Disclosure that remains visible regardless of how a reader arrives at the page, including from search engines or social media.

We aim to align our labeling with applicable guidance on advertising disclosures, including U.S. Federal Trade Commission principles on native advertising and endorsements. Final disclosure wording is subject to review by counsel.

No Hidden Paid Placement

We do not accept payment to publish content while concealing that it was paid for. There is no “pay-to-play” path to undisclosed coverage, favorable framing, or higher placement in our rankings, lists, or reviews. If money or other consideration influenced whether or how prominently something appears, that fact will be disclosed. Editorial coverage—including any review, comparison, or commentary—is never offered, sold, or guaranteed in exchange for payment, advertising spend, or an affiliate relationship.

Separation of Advertising and Editorial

We maintain a functional separation between the commercial side of RUO Report (sponsorships, advertising, and affiliate arrangements) and the editorial side (research summaries, analysis, and reviews). Commercial partners and advertisers do not direct our editorial calendar, dictate conclusions, or receive approval rights over independent articles. Advertising revenue and affiliate participation do not determine which topics we cover or what we conclude about them.

Limits on Sponsor Control Over Claims

Sponsors do not control the scientific or factual claims in our independent editorial content. Where a sponsor supplies content or claims for clearly labeled sponsored placements, the following conditions apply:

  • The material is identified as sponsored, so readers know its source;
  • Any factual or scientific statements that we present are subject to our own fact-checking and editorial review, and we may decline, qualify, or remove claims we cannot substantiate;
  • We do not adopt a sponsor’s claims as our own independent findings unless we have independently reviewed them;
  • Consistent with our research-use-only mission, no sponsored content may present medical, therapeutic, dosing, or human-use guidance, and we may reject sponsorships that conflict with this principle or with applicable law.

Editorial Review Expectations

All content—sponsored and independent—is expected to be accurate, non-deceptive, and consistent with our research-use-only framing. We reserve the right to edit sponsored material for clarity, accuracy, labeling, and policy compliance, and to decline or withdraw any sponsorship that is misleading, makes unsupported scientific or health claims, or is otherwise inconsistent with this policy. Corrections to material errors are handled under our Editorial Policy.

Reader Responsibility

Information on RUO Report is provided for research and educational purposes only and describes products and literature in a research-use-only context. It is not medical advice and is not a recommendation to purchase or use any product. Readers are responsible for independently verifying information and complying with all applicable laws and regulations in their jurisdiction.
